Seth Levine, a professor of accounting since 1990 and University of Miami alumnus uses his decades of experience every day to prepare tomorrow’s CPAs for successful accounting careers. He began his professional career as an auditor and consultant with Price Waterhouse in 1985, and he became a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida in 1987. He has also served as the CFO of a family-owned import and export agribusiness with farms and factories in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
“I love teaching students more about money and more about investment. Which is really what accounting is about” says Professor Levine.
His practical knowledge as a CPA as well as his position as a senior faculty member for the Becker CPA Review Course since 1989 allows him to be a strong resource for those students looking to advance their career as a CPA or similarly certified accountant.
For alumni and Senior Associate at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Javier E. Pagan, Professor Levine’s guidance was critical in is advancement within his current organization. “I think the program is opening a lot of opportunities for me at the office. I’ve can help on other projects because of the accounting courses I’m taking and I’m able to understand different accounting procedures or access risk on an analytical perspective” explains Pagan who has begun studying to become a CPA since graduation from the program in December.
