Financial aid options
If you live in the U.S. you may be eligible for a federal loan.
It is recommended that you complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. The application takes around 30 minutes and you will need the University of Miami School Codes; FAFSA: 001536 and GRE: 5815 to hand. You can find financial aid deadlines on our admissions page.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans
These are funded by the government, have an annual maximum of $20,500 and grace period of 6 months. There is no credit requirement. The repayment period is 10–25 years (options available).
You can apply on the FAFSA website, with a Master Promissory Note (MPN) - in which you promise to repay your loan (approximately 30 minutes). You will need to complete entrance counseling to ensure you understand the responsibilities and obligations you are assuming (approximately 30 minutes).
Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loans
These are funded by the government and have an annual maximum of the cost of attendance minus other student aid. There is no assumed grace period but you can contact the lender to request this. Good credit history or no credit history is required (no delinquent accounts or bankruptcy). The repayment period is 10–25 years (options available).
You can apply on the FAFSA website, with a Master Promissory Note (MPN) - in which you promise to repay your loan (approximately 30 minutes). You will also need to complete the direct PLUS Application (approximately 20 minutes).
Privately funded loans tend to have an annual maximum of the cost of attendance minus other student aid. The grace period can be set at between six and nine months, depending on the loan. Most lenders require a particular credit score to be approved without a co-borrower. The typical repayment period is 10–20 years.

Calculating the Cost of Your Program
Tuition for the Master of Science in Finance is $2,100 per credit hour, totaling $67,200* for the full 32-credit degree program. The program also requires a one-time program fee of $100 in addition to the tuition.
